Field Trips on Holidays and Summer Vacations

Offsite field trips include Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sport (VASS) skiing, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding and cycling. We also incorporate weekly trips to swimming facilities such as the Aquatic Center in White River Junction and many Vermont State Parks. Once a year, we travel to The Northern Stage Theater to view productions such as "Annie" and "The Wizard of OZ." Our trips also include educational visits to local farms to learn healthy farm to table skills and apple picking, making cider, berry picking, pickling, and more. In addition, we take educational trips to local museums such as the Vermont Institute of Natural Science in Quechee and the Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich. These field trips allow our participants to venture into the world at large to experience places outside their normal comfort zones. It also is an opportunity for others to meet our participants and become familiar with the wonderful people they are.

Programs at Billings Farm

ZP partners with Billings Farm on a regular basis for educational agricultural programs such as learning how to make wool, candles, pickles, pumpkin pie and more. ZP enjoys visiting the livestock and learning about their care. Also ZP enjoys the film festival, wagon rides and farm history programs.
