A Typical Day

A Place to Belong. A Place to Be Yourself. A Place to Have Fun.

Every day at Zack’s Place is a little different—and that’s what makes it special. Our days are filled with opportunities to learn, create, explore, laugh, and spend time with friends.

Mornings: Learn, Create & Connect

Our mornings are filled with activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Participants might gather for a book group, try their hand at cooking, create something in art class, or enjoy one of the many activities planned throughout the week.

There’s always something happening, and there’s always someone to share it with.

Lunchtime: Friends, Food & Conversation

Lunch is about much more than eating. It’s a time to gather around the table, share stories, catch up with friends, and enjoy each other’s company.

For many of our participants, these friendships and connections are one of the most important parts of their day.

Afternoons: Move, Explore & Have Fun

After lunch, the energy continues! Our afternoon activities include yoga, dance, swimming, exercise, Pilates, music, art, and more.

Participants also have opportunities to get outside and explore through skiing, canoeing, kayaking, walks, and other adventures.

Making Music & Making Memories

Our Theater Guild has become a special part of Zack’s Place. Participants have performed musicals at local venues and shared their love of music through joyful sing-alongs at the Town Hall Theater.

Whether performing on stage, creating a work of art, learning something new, or simply laughing with friends, there are countless opportunities to shine.

Summer Adventures

Summer at Zack’s Place means getting out and enjoying everything our community has to offer. Weekly field trips take us to local farms, museums, swimming spots, ponds, Vermont State Parks, and other favorite destinations.

We walk, explore, learn, and make memories together. And one of our favorite summer traditions is heading to the Woodstock Green for the weekly concerts.

Winter Fun

When the snow arrives, the adventure continues! Our adaptive ski program at Suicide Six gives participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of skiing while enjoying the winter outdoors.

And That’s Just One Day...

At Zack’s Place, the activities are important—but the people are what make the place special.

We provide a place where adults with special needs can spend their days surrounded by friends, caring staff, volunteers, and members of the community. We create opportunities to learn and grow, but just as importantly, opportunities to laugh, connect, contribute, and belong.

Come see what a day at Zack’s Place looks like. We think you’ll understand why our participants love being here.
