Cycling:
In the spring we meet with Vermont Adaptive Sports on the Rail Trail in Lebanon NH for adaptive cycling. Tom Alcorn from Vt Adaptive, and his crew of enthusiastic and amazing volunteers provide bikes and instruction for us. No need to bring a bike-they bring every type of bike imaginable for us to ride. Each bike is specifically designed for individuals with special needs. Every week we try new bikes as we enjoy the beauty of the Rail Trail and gather with friends.
Skiing:
In the winter ZP heads to Saskadena Six ski area once a month to meet with Vermont adaptive for a day of skiing and snowboarding. Vermont Adaptive brings equipment that is able to accommodate everyone of our athletes who wants to ski no matter their level or ability. Many start on the magic carpet and eventually are going up the chair. Vermont Adaptive has many resources and a complete array of equipment and their volunteers make sure that every person who wants to ski or snowboard has a rewarding and fun experience.
Boating and Swimming at Silver Lake:
Every Wednesday in the summer we travel to nearby Silver Lake in Barnard VT where we meet with Tom Alcorn and his merry band of volunteers from Vermont Adaptive. They bring all types of adaptive boats including canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Everyone is welcome and all levels from beginner to expert participate in instructional adaptive boating. Also, while at Silver Lake, we swim, picnic and play games. Our weekly trips to Silver Lake are one of the highlights of our summer!
